Mozbot 2.6 is released!

Exactly 7 years to the day of its predecessor, a new version of Mozbot, the extensible IRC bot, has been released.

New in Mozbot 2.6 is:

  • The Google module, including Google Fight support.
  • Support for Bugzilla activity messages in channels
  • Support for Secure IRC (via SSL)
  • Translation improvements
  • and more…

    Is there any other software which has been seven years between major releases? Emacs 21 to 22 was supposed to be really long, and that’s only 5.75 years.

    No idea, to be honest. but regardless, its still nice to be able to pick up abandoned code and carry it to a major release. 🙂
